Martin Ødegaard has shared a positive update on his knee injury recovery. The Arsenal captain admitted that setting a firm return date remains challenging. He picked up the injury during the Premier League match against West Ham earlier in the month.

“I’ve been back for a week now [from international duty] and working every day to keep my fitness up as well as trying to heal the injury, so it’s busy days at the moment,” he told Arsenal’s official website. “It’s hard work and long days in recovery, but that’s what you want and I feel like it’s going well so far.”

Details of the Injury to the Arsenal Midfielder

Ødegaard described the injury as a result of knee-to-knee contact during the West Ham game. The 26-year-old initially hoped to continue playing. However, the pain persisted, leading to his substitution.

“I feel like I’ve been really unlucky a few times this season. It was a knee-to-knee contact in the West Ham game, and at the time I didn’t know if it was bad or not because they can be quite painful, but normally you can run it off,” Ødegaard recalled.

The Arsenal medical team conducted a thorough assessment after the match. They determined that rest and rehabilitation were necessary for his recovery.

The Arsenal captain acknowledged the difficulty in predicting his exact return date. The injury impacts his left leg, which is crucial for passing and shooting. This makes the recovery process more complex.

“It’s tricky to set a return date with this type of injury because, especially it being my left leg, a lot depends on how it goes when I start getting back on the pitch,” he explained. “Sometimes it can be quite sore when you start passing the ball and shooting and all these things with that leg, so it’s really hard to say a date. “All I can say is I’m progressing really well at the moment. I think we will know more when I start getting back on the training pitches and we’ll see how that goes. If that goes really well then it can be quick.”

Arsenal maintain momentum in Champions League

While Martin Ødegaard focuses on his rehabilitation, Arsenal have maintained a strong performance. Mikel Arteta’s side secured a dominant 4-0 victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. This win keeps them competitive in both domestic and European competitions this season.

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone made remarks on Arsenal after his side suffered a 4–0 defeat in the Champions League. Mikel Arteta was full of admiration for four Arsenal stars after the Gunners demolished Atletico Madrid 4–0 in their Champions League. Arsenal suffered another major setback in their 4:0 Champions League demolition of Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium.

Martin Ødegaard’s recovery is progressing well, and his eventual return will strengthen Arsenal. The team’s continued success in his absence demonstrates their depth and determination. Arsenal fans will be watching closely for updates on his progress.
