Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. are back in the Premier League and they boast a strong squad. They are expected to be back with a bang and are in the market looking for some real bargain deals.
Wolves were linked with Manchester City starlet Oleksandr Zinchenko and now Nuno Espirito Santo is looking to strengthen his squad defensively. They are reportedly in the market looking for a center back as well as someone who can play deep on the right.
Calum Chambers seems a perfect fit, Nuno could kill two birds with one shot if he succeeds in getting Chambers.
The 23-year-old seemingly have limited chances at Arsenal, as the Gunners possess the likes of Shkodran Mustafi, Laurent Koscielny, Sokratis, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Rob Holding and Calum Chambers – all of them fighting for two places. It may just tempt Calum to look elsewhere for gametime.
According to the Times, Calum is available for around £22 million this summer, and the fee seems decent in today’s market. Chambers recently extended his contract with Arsenal and a permanent move away from Arsenal seems unlikely. Though Chambers on loan could be something Wolves should be looking for.
Despite being young, Chambers possess fair experienced in the top flight, and that would be a major asset for Nuno’s side, with his squad lacking Premier League experience.
It would not be easy for Wolves to get him their own way, with Fulham reportedly keen on signing the Gunners defender, according to Sky Sports
