The defensive dominoes has pushed Arsenal to fall off top four. Unai Emery and his troop are in search of a centre-back who can stand strong and be dependable in the absence of Laurent Koscielny. The Chelsea man, Gary Cahill is the perfect match for the missing pieces. The Chelsea man would surely fit into the side and help them regain shape.
Former Arsenal man Rhys Weston who played alongside Ashley Cole feels that Gary Cahill is the right man and Unai Emery should fancy speaking with the defender.
The only person that really stands out is someone like Gary Cahill at Chelsea that you could potentially go and get, slot straight in and not need any time to bed in.
“There seems to be this trend with Arsenal bringing in young, continental centre-backs who need time to acclimatise.
“They need to bolster the defence in January if they can but you have to take into consideration how it’s going to affect the dressing room.
“If Emery is building something and he wants a group, a collective that is going to pull together, maybe adding someone in that isn’t quite the right fit could have a detrimental effect.”
Gary Cahill is warming the bench for the Blues and could be a perfect find for the Gunners who could truly bolster their defence and transcend their defensive woes. The 33-year-old will not be a tough ask as a loan move from Chelsea, as he has only made one appearance that too as a substitute under Maurizio Sarri.
Arsenal lack an experienced candidate in the back, and Gary Cahill would be no bad. The man has served Chelsea for 7 years helping them win FA Cup, Premier League and Champions Trophy. A winner with all the experience under his belt, Cahill will be the guiding force for the Gunners and may help them towards Champions trophy next season.
