With David Raya taking charge of the gloves at Arsenal, the club is looking to move Aaron Ramsdale this summer; however, the England international could be set for a shock move to Premier League side Nottingham Forest, who are preparing an exit route for the former Sheffield United goalkeeper.
Ramsdale exit looms as Nottingham Forest circle loan move
Ramsdale could be looking to move to City Ground, as he has been offered a route to be consistent minutes away from Arsenal.
He was assigned backup duties for the majority of the last season, and the shot stopper is not keen on doing the same in the upcoming season.
Arsenal have not received any significant bids for the goalkeeper yet, as they have put up a £50 million valuation on Ramsdale, which is something beyond what Forest can afford at the moment.
Nuno Espírito Santo’s side are believed to be working on a late move to sign Ramsdale on loan this summer.
The officials at Nottingham are believed to be offering to pay up the full wages of the player alongside healthy bonus offerings to tempt the Gunners, who are also seeking a backup to Raya as they know their current number two is seeking pastures beyond the Emirates Stadium.
This will not be the first time Nottingham Forest will turn to elite clubs for goalkeepers. They turned to Dean Henderson from Manchester United when they were initially promoted to the top tier. They also brought in Keylor Navas from Paris-Saint-Germain in January 2023, following Henderson’s injury.
Arsenal are looking to sign Wolves deputy keeper Dan Bentley in the meantime, as they look to bring the Hale End graduate back to the N5 this summer.
