As per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano via CaughtOffside, Arsenal are ready to let go of another high-profile player in the final weeks of the dramatic transfer window. The Gunners are not done yet and are still working to release the players who are no longer in manager Mikel Arteta’s plans. With their incoming list already sorted out, they have a senior star on their departure list.
RAMSDALE COULD BE THE 3RD PLAYER TO LEAVE ARSENAL
According to the Italian journalist, Aaron Ramsdale’s future looks uncertain and anything could happen in the next few weeks. The goalkeeper is nowhere in Arteta’s plans and will continue to act as a second fiddle to the undisputed starter, David Raya.
The North London-based club are aware of the reported interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bournemouth for their prized asset.
However, both clubs are said to be more interested in a loan move. Whereas, the Gooners are only expecting a permanent move for the 26-year-old keeper.
It was previously known that Everton, Southampton and Ajax also hold a keen interest in the English star. Although these teams are actively inspecting the deal, they haven’t tabled any bid for Ramsdale.

With his future hanging by a thread, it would affect the incredible shot-stoppers’ confidence heading into the new season.
Anything can happen from now, and it will be interesting to see whether Arsenal accept a loan move as a last option or stick with their original plan of a permanent sale.
WILL RAMSDALE FACE A SIMILAR FATE AS FORMER ARSENAL STAR BERND LENO?
Even if we keep all these transfer rumours aside, one thing is clear it’s very difficult for Rams to dethrone Raya as Arsenal’s number-one goalkeeper.
Raya has continued to protect the nets for the English elites since moving in from Brentford in 2023. Arteta convinced the club to sign him permanently and he has now put the final nail in the coffin of their previous top-choice keeper.
It’s either a move away or warming the bench for the player. It’s a sorry end for a shot-stopper who is talented enough to start for some of the best clubs in the Premier League.

Bernd Leno faced a similar situation even after he was once a regular player in front of goal. Ramsdale was also seen as an athlete who would sustain for a long period in Arteta’s plans. But the storyline just doesn’t click.
The keeper missed the preseason amid calls that he is aware that he might depart anytime soon. Arsenal continued to use their former golden glove winner, Raya and he was in sublime form against Wolves in the opening game of the 2024/25 PL season.

If Rams departs, the club could jump in for Espanyol star Joan Garcia. The 23-year-old is making a lot of noise in the Gunners’ fan base due to his impressive displays for the Spanish U21 side.
He can be a quality backup since his prime years are yet to come. His strong reflexes and quality distribution from the back will help the Reds. The player has agreed on personal terms but both clubs are yet to agree on a transfer fee (asking price of €30m)

Arsenal can’t afford the player until and unless they don’t sell their current second-choice shot-stopper. Whatever happens, we just want Ramsdale to enjoy football again and start delivering those juggernaut performances regularly.
