Arsenal will be ready to brace themselves for some intense competition for one of their top shot-stoppers in the final weeks of the summer transfer window as As per talkSport, Wolverhampton Wanderers are in contention to make a move for Aaron Ramsdale.
The 26-year-old has not been a regular player for the Gunners since David Raya secured his loan switch last season. The English star featured in just 11 games, with only six of them coming in the Premier League.
He hasn’t been able to produce anything special this year, as Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was reluctant to pick him far more often in the starting XI. To make matters even more complicated, they have sealed a permanent move for Raya from Brentford for a fee of around £27 million.
SUMMER SO FAR AT LONDON COLNEY AS RAMSDALE FACES DIM FUTURE
The North London-based club are active in the ongoing transfer period as they have secured a move for Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori, and they are expected to work on the outgoings.
With Emile Smith-Rowe switching to Fulham, Ramsdale is the next ace to get attention from other clubs. Wolves have joined Nottingham Forest and Southampton in this tight race to sign the experienced English goalkeeper.
Arsenal are not in any rush to sell the player but might not shy away from any bids being made. Currently, not even a single club is ready to break the bank and splash £50 million for Ramsdale, which is what the Gunners are expecting.
The player himself has spoken about his status at the club and said that he is not a happy man on the bench. As quoted by Football London, he said last summer:
“No footballer wants to not play. I’ve had a tough year personally not playing, and I never want to do that again.”

WOLVES COULD NOW COME CALLING FOR AARON RAMSDALE
Wolves could be a possible destination for the shot-stopper, and a lot can happen if both clubs are willing to meet on common grounds. José Sá is expected to leave Molineux this summer.
He has been a remarkable player for the Old Golds and helped them reach the FA Cup quarterfinals last season.
However, manager Gary O’Neil would be targeting a younger alternative in Ramsdale. As per talkSport, the club is ready to offer goalkeeper Dan Bentley plus a cash deal to get their desired player.
The Gunners have tried exploring a move for Bentley in the past, and this deal might make things easier for them. They would get a replacement plus funds to improve other positions on the field.
