17-year-old midfielder Charlie Patino could find a place in the squad to face League One side AFC Wimbledon in EFL Cup third round fixture.
Arsenal’s Hale End has already produced excellent and brilliant players such as Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe in recent years and, Charlie Patino could be the next sensational talent who can get an opportunity to play in the first team.
Last weekend, Arsenal U-23’s managed to find a 3-1 win against Manchester United in the PL2 division. 20-year-old Folrian Balogun scored two goals in that match, following a sensational solo goal by none other than Charlie Patino. He dribbled past three defenders and calmly chipped the ball above the Man United keeper Dean Henderson.
Patino has become a regular starter for Arsenal’s U-23 side and, he also captained the U-21 team in the EFL Cup defeat to Swindon Town. Although the Gunners lost that match, the starman Charlie Patino didn’t put a stop to heroics performance. He won 18 of his 21 individual duels, earned nine free-kicks, made five tackles, and created two chances.
Charlie Patino joined Arsenal from Luton Town in 2015 when he was 11-years-old. The Gunners were facing competition from London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspurs for the signature of the young talent. The North London Club ran out of winners as they signed Patino for a transfer fee of £10,000.
Yesterday English Journalist Chris Wheatley in his Q&A video on Youtube said that “Charlie Patino likely to be named in upcoming Carabao Cup game against Wimbledon, we probably expect him to be on the bench this game. I’ve been told he’s really impressing the Arsenal players in the first team.”
Reports earlier in the summer stated that Patino is rumoured to sign a new long term contract with the Gunners when he turns 18 this coming October.
All the Arsenal fans are hoping to see him break into the first-team squad as soon as possible and will be eager to see him play at the Emirates.
