Premier League giants Arsenal are getting linked with several wingers as they move towards the closing stages of the summer transfer window.
One notable name is Ademola Lookman whose performances for Atalanta have grabbed the attention of those sitting at the top. However, the Gunners are yet to make a move for the Nigerian ace since they are eyeing another attractive option.
ARSENAL COULD TRIGGER NICO WILLIAMS’ RELEASE CLAUSE
According to GiveMeSport, Arsenal haven’t made a bid for the Serie A star as they prefer to wait for Atletico Bilbao ace Nico Williams. Arteta’s side are hopeful of landing the 22-year-old even if it looks difficult at this moment.
The young winger had an excellent Euros 2024 campaign for Spain. He scored two goals and provided one assist in six games for La Roja.
He was a nightmare for opposition defence due to his fast movements, deadly finishing and ability to create chances from the flanks. He had 27 goal contributions in 37 appearances, which are insane numbers.

Bilbao presented the No.10 shirt to Williams and the player wants to continue playing in Spain. This is a sign of concern for Arsenal since it won’t be easy for them to convince the player to move to London. The La Liga prodigy has already rejected a chance to move to Barcelona.
The Gooners are said to be open to triggering the £49 million release clause in his contract. Bilbao fear that the English elites can easily activate this clause.
But the player doesn’t want to move away from his current club and is keen to stay in the San Mames Stadium.
Meanwhile, Lookman can be an option for Arsenal but with very little time left, it might take a lot of effort to get a deal done. The Atalanta ace is closing in on extending his time at his parent club.

Arteta might think of signing a Leandro Trossard-type player who can be a wild-card entry in crucial games. This would help the club save funds and have options on the field.

They are yet to announce a deal for Real Sociedad star Mikel Merino. Although both Lookman and Williams are top-class players, the deal’s timing will play a crucial factor in this transfer race.
We hope that the club doesn’t regret losing their too targets once the deadline day passes. Meanwhile, Sociedad will try to do everything in its power to convince its key players to stay.
