Despite spending around £75 Million for three new arrivals this summer transfer window, Arsenal are again ready to spill the cash on two key signings.
Their long-term hunt for a Number 10 is about to come to an end, as Arsenal have reportedly agreed to a price with Real Madrid to sign Norway International Martin Odegaard. The deal is expected to be around £30 Million for Norway International.
Odegaard was on loan at Arsenal in the 2nd half of the calendar year. He was impressive during the 5-month stint and scored 2 goals in 14 appearances. His heroic display in March earned him the trophy of Arsenal’s Player of the Month.
Mikel Arteta was happy with his performance and since the start of the summer transfer window, the club’s management were keeping close tabs on him, as they were keen to bring him to the Emirates on a permanent deal.
Today might be the day where the transfer is expected to be official. As per reports, the player is fully vaccinated and hence he need not face quarantine when he arrives in London. He is also in contention to play against London rivals Chelsea this weekend.
Coming to 2nd transfer, Arsenal are also on the verge of signing English keeper Aaron Ramsdale from Championship side Sheffield United. One week back, the talks between both the clubs to sign Aaron collapsed as Arsenal were not ready to bid anything excess of £30 Million for the Englishman.
This week there was finally a breakthrough and both clubs have reportedly agreed on a fee of £24 Million to sign the keeper.
Despite Sheffield being relegated last Premier League season, he was by far Sheffield’s best player. His heroics and impressive display rewarded him with Sheffield United’s Player of the Season.
Arsenal were also heavily linked with Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana at the start of the summer transfer window. But Arsenal were keen to bring a homegrown keeper this season and Aaron Ramsdale is the perfect candidate for the role.
Both the transfers are expected to be official soon.
