All winter long, talks have circulated on different transfer targets for Arsenal, majority of them being defensive targets, from the seemingly endless rumors of the potential Dayot Upamecano transfer to the sudden rumors of Nathan to even the probably ridiculous rumor of Napoli colossus, Kalidou Koulibaly. Amidst all of the rumors and names swirling about, who could have thought that the ultimate choice wasn’t even there.
On Thursday morning ‘GloboESporte’, one of the most reliable outlets in Brazil reported that Arsenal technical director, Edu Gasper, was in Brazil to trash out a deal for Club De Flamemgoes center back, Pablo Mari. It would not be past an hour before ‘Goal Brazil would make an identical report, this time with more substancial proofs, photos of Edu and Mari discussing. Both parties flew to London to complete a deal, which according to Charles Watts of Goal will be a loan deal with an option to make the deal permanent in the summer.
According to several sources, Goal included, Arsenal are on the verge of officially announcing the deal, with a medical reportedly completed. the player could and should be available for selection by the time Arsenal play their next league match.
