Arsenal join the race to sign 25-year-old Mexican starlet who is nicknamed the ‘La Maga’

Arsenal Women’s team are on a hunt for a new winger as recent rumours indicate that Kathrine Kuhl is on the verge of leaving the club. Manager Renee Slegers revealed that the Danish star is ‘close to a move’ amid links to Everton and AS Roma. However, the former are now likely to seal a €100k deal. Kuhl’s departure will force them to look for alternate options in the January transfer window.

Recent reports state that Trinity Rodman and Brazilian Kerolin are on their wishlist. But there is one more player who is slowly gaining popularity in the Gunners’ camp.

As per journalist Amee Ruszkai, Arsenal have joined several elite European clubs in the race to sign Tigres winger Lizbeth Ovalle.

The 25-year-old’s technical abilities on the ball, wicked finishing skills, strong work ethic, and quick movements have attracted admirers.

Her only weakness is her assist numbers, as she rarely gives up the ball to her teammates upfront and the usage of her weaker right foot. Just a little confidence on the non-dominating side can make her simply unstoppable.

Ovalle boasts crazy goal-scoring numbers this season. She has scored 20 goals already in just 24 games. The promising attacker was part of the Mexican team that defeated the United States to win its first CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship back in 2018. The South American won her first senior international cap when she was just a teenager.

Her parent club, Tigres, have won the most Liga MX Femenil titles, and Ovalle has firmly established her name in this solid team. She also went on to help the ‘Las Amazonas’ win six national championships. The 25-year-old is nicknamed ‘La Maga’ or ‘the little magician’ as she has played a key role for the Mexican Women’s team since 2019.

The Gooners are looking for a younger option, and the Mexican star has both age and experience on her side. She is a game-changing talent, a player who stands out. Tigers are ready to listen to offers in the range of €100k for a January move.

The attacker will be a free agent in the summer, but Arsenal won’t risk waiting that long since there are several clubs waiting in the line. Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Wolfsburg are all willing to pay the required sum to snap her up this month.

She is currently the best player in Mexico and will be waiting to introduce herself to Europe’s biggest clubs. Some might question how she will adapt to life in Europe. A January move will be beneficial since that will give her time to bed into her new club.

Arsenal needs to be quick, as the competition for her signature will only increase as the weeks pass by.
