Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been on the sidelines for four and a half months owing to multiple muscle injuries which has limited him to just 5 appearances this season.
In what is a big positive for Arsenal, the Ghanian international trained with the Arsenal squad ahead of the Gunners’ trip to Porto for the Champions League round of 16 clash.
Though Partey will not be travelling with his teammates to Portugal. Mikel Arteta was asked about Partey’s availability in the pre-match press conference.
“There’s no big setbacks,” Arteta said. “Thomas Partey is progressing really well. It’s looking very good and he’s on the field already.”
Having Thomas Partey back will be colossal for the final run-in of the season as Arsenal eyes Premier League and Champions League silverware.
On a more positive note for the Gunners, Fabio Vieira is back and travelled with the squad to Porto with the possibility to face his boyhood club. The Portuguese has been nursing through an injury in the last few months and will be aiming to make his first appearance in Red and Whites since November 11, 2023.
