Toni Kroos? Luca Modric? Naah, Real Madrid have a new name donning their midfield lately and its Federico Valverde, who has managed to cement his place in Zidane’s starting eleven in the recent weeks.
Valverde, who could be deployed as a central midfielder or even an attacking midfielder, has nailed ten appearances for Los Blancos so far this campaign, netting one and assisting one in the process.
Now, Arsenal have a history about missing out on big game players and Federico Valverde could be another of those names on that long list.
It seems like Real Madrid have got a gem in Valverde, though it seems like things would have been way different if Arsenal would have signed him a few years back.
As Per the reports by The Sun, Arsenal called Valverde for a trial but decided against signing him before the Spainard completed his move to Real Madrid in 2016.
In fact Valverde himself admitted Arsenal’s interest, “Arsenal asked about me when I was with Penarol, and I had travelled to practise with them.”
With all the problems going on in the midfield at Arsenal as of now, Unai Emery would’ve loved having someone like Federico Valverde in his ranks.
