Arthur Melo has been subject to links with a move to Arsenal for quite a while now, especially back in January where the Gunners were striving to secure his services.
If reports by Tutto Mercato Web are to be believed, the Gunners have rekindled their interest in the Brazilian maestro and have renewed talks with Juventus over finding a potential common ground. Arthur has apparently been given green light to pursue pastures beyond Juventus and Arsenal can prove to be a likely destination.
Back in winter, Juventus were holding out for a permanent departure while Arsenal offered to take the player on temporary measures with an option for a concrete one. Juve were holding out and anything failed to materialize as Arthur Melo remained in Turin for the rest of the campaign. Though the Italian giants want to get rid of him and many clubs are said to be interested in his services.
Juventus have brought in Paul Pogba on a free transfer and alongside him, they are blessed with a great deal of midfield options as Allegri feels Arthur Melo and Adrien Raboit be surplus.
Barcelona are considering getting Melo back in Catalonia and could soon start talks with Juventus. While Arsenal remains interested although the Gunners have multiple targets for the Melo role and it’s yet to catch sight of a priority. Furthermore, the Gunners have also secured the services of Oleksandr Zinchenko who can play that #8 role as well and can dictate a web of passes (something that Arthur Melo’s credentials boast). Arsenal are also interested in the likes of Youri Tielemans, where a potential five million valuation gap with Leicester City is holding the deal to be concluded. While Lucas Paqueta is a highly poised target as well.
Tielemans reportedly remains a priority for that midfield void, but Arsenal were deep down interested in Melo back in January and if the financial aspects are better this time around, then Melo can be another addition to Arsenal’s Brazilian revolution.
