Arsenal are set to reward Jorginho with a new contract with his impressive performances at the heart of the midfield this season.
The Gunners are set to open negotiations with the Italian international with a two year offer.
Jorginho will technically be running down his contract at the Emirates Stadium this summer although the Gunners have an one-year option to extend his stay in the infamous Reds and Whites.
Although rather than vanilla activating the option on his deal, Arsenal have opened talks for a new contract with a one year deal offered and the Gunners would again hold a one year option. [as reported by Mark Mann-Bryans]

If Jorginho accepts the new contract, he will extend his stay at Arsenal till the conclusion of 2025 with the club having option to increase it to the summer of 2026.
Given that the Gunners have just opened talks with Jorginho, any conclusion shouldn’t be expected immediately. Although it is good to see that both the parties are speaking and there is possibility that Jorginho will extend his stay at Arsenal.
According to a recent report from Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal will have until the end of the season to take up the one year option on Jorginho’s contract.
Fabrizio Romano also added that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is “really happy” with Jorginho’s performances and Arsenal’s decision to open contract talks with the Brazil-born midfielder certainly suggests so.
Jorginho recently had a colossal performance against Newcastle United, with phenomenal numbers:
89 Minutes Played
89% Pass Accuracy
108 Touches
12 Passes into Final Third
100% Tackles Won
100% Aerial Duals Won
1 Interceptions
4 Recoveries
This is what he had to say after the game –
“I like to be the underdogs. Let them speak. We need to stay humble… keep pushing and believe.”
