Arsenal are targeting Bayern Munich speedster Leroy Sane as they continue their pursuit of signing a highly talented winger, per GiveMeSport.
The 28-year-old has been an important player for the Bavarian giants, but they are yet to convince him to extend his contract.
They want him to take a pay cut, which complicates the matter. With less than one year remaining on his deal, the player is free to talk to any interested clubs in January.
Arsenal eyeing former Man City ace Sane as contract talks stall
Premier League giants Arsenal and Newcastle United are keeping tabs on the German wide man and are open to signing him next summer. Mikel Arteta is a fan of the former Manchester City star, who played under his guidance at the Etihad.
Sane scored 54 goals in 90 appearances for the Blues. He is the X-factor that Arsenal needs in their squad. Having a left-footed attacker who can support Bukayo Saka and add experiences to their young front-line.

Unlike other transfers, this one carries relatively less risk since the player has the experience of playing in the PL and will adapt faster.

It’s no secret that the Gooners have to sort their issues upfront next summer. Raheem Sterling is just a short-term fix, and signing someone like Sane is a chance too good to miss.
The only issue would be his £325,000 per week wages. The 28-year-old will become the highest-earning player at the Emirates if he prefers to move. But Arteta and co. have to balance their financial books, keeping in mind that they already pay high wages to players like Kai Havertz and Declan Rice.
Sane’s situation won’t improve as Bayern boss Vincent Kompany continues to stick with new signing Michael Olise in right-wing position. Dubbed ‘incredible’ by former Dutch star Rafael van der Vaart, he won’t feel a shortage of suitors in 2025.
