Transfer guru Ben Jacobs has recently claimed that Arsenal were interested in signing Leeds United winger Jack Harrison during the summer transfer window.
Harrison, a former Manchester City youth player has been a key player for the Whites for many seasons now. Jacobs has stated that Arsenal were looking to add some depth to their attacking options and saw Harrison as a player who could bring a lot of energy and creativity to the team.
However, the transfer ultimately did not happen and Harrison stayed with Leeds for the start of the new season. Right now, Arsenal are at a different level and don’t really need a reinforcement in attack.
Jacobs did claim however that the interest was not really pronounced. It is understandable as Harrison is not really the kind of player we must be looking at.
“Jack Harrison is another long-standing target. With Harrison, I think it’s a slightly different situation now compared to the summer. Arsenal were not the only club that considered a move for Harrison, although they didn’t move in any sort of significant way necessarily.”
The Spaniard has his merits but right now, we have the likes of Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and even Emile Smith Rowe to play wide. Throw in the youngsters like Reece Nelson and Marquinhos and we dont really need a Harrison.
