Arsenal have been linked with about a hundred of centre backs eversince Mikel Arteta took over the reigns, it seems like every other defender that impresses is linked with a move to the Emirates. This week, there have been rounds about Arsenal been in touch with French side Stade Reims as they express interest in centre-back Axel Disasi.
Mikel Arteta will welcome the services of William Saliba post the current campaign with a probable confirmation of Pablo Mari’s permanent stay at N5, and its claimed that Saliba’s been paired alongside Disasi will form a deadly duo with Pain in the Arsenal claiming Axel Disasi better than William Saliba.
Disasi has been a force in Remis’ defence which has seem him limit the goals conceded to only 21 in 28 matches – a record which is only bettered by Real Madrid in Europe’s top five leagues.
The report on Disasi by Goal.com says that Arsenal believe Axel Disasi “ticks a lot of the boxes they are looking for in a new signing”; “an intelligent centre-back who reads the game well and one who has the physical presence to cope with the demands of the Premier League.”
At £13million, the 6ft 3in seems a reasonable risk – a risk Arsenal should take, as Disasi looks a strong candidate, a Wenger-esque signing if you ask me!
