Hector Bellerin is no stranger to criticisms, as Spainard have become merely a scapegoat for many Arsenal supporters in the past 12 months.
Bellerin found himself criticized again after his defensive performance against West Ham on Saturday.
Firstly, Unai Emery has made it clear that he wants to play attacking football with full-backs playing higher up the pitch. Considering that – Bellerin is doing what he is been told. He is a beast offensively and Emery is taking the most out of his abilities upfront.
But, Bellerin originally being a defender – You will question his defensive performance.
You could see Hector running up and down the pitch looking to cover offensive as well as defensive aspects of the game. But you won’t consider him being exposed by the midfield.
When full backs are donning their offensive duties, it’s duty of the midfield to drop in and cover them. But that didn’t really happen and on multiple occasions Bellerin was caught out high up the pitch, giving West Ham plenty of space on the counter attacks.
Bellerin has had a tough start to the season and we saw West Ham making the most of their attacks from the left. Yes, Hector still has plenty to do with playing under Unai Emery and his style and they will certainly look deep into it.
We should not forget – Bellerin finished the game against West Ham with two assists and has been a nightmare for opponents going forward.
