Arsenal could fast-track move for 8GA Real Madrid attacker this month

Brahim-Diaz-Arsenal

Arsenal could amp up their efforts to try and sign Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid this month, with the club reportedly valuing the winger at £15.5 million. This is as per an exclusive report from TBR Football, which adds that Los Blancos are looking to move on from the attacker, with the likes of Arda Guler and Endrick being robbed of valuable playing time with Diaz still around.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta will be in major support of a move for Brahim Diaz, whom he coached during his stint with Manchester City between 2016-19. The Moroccan international was also at the club during the same phase but made just 15 appearances for the senior team, scoring two goals. Now, he has a chance to reunite with his former coach and would command a starting role as well.

Diaz is currently the subject of interest from Arsenal, as well as Serie A giants AC Milan, who view him as an ideal squad player. He spent three years on loan with the Rossoneri as well, making 124 appearances, scoring 18 goals and providing 15 assists as well.

It remains to be seen which club he picks as his next destination.

How would Brahim Diaz’s arrival benefit Arsenal?

For starters, the £15.5 million asking price seems like a steal in the current market climate. Diaz is a quality attacker who can play across the front three, and also in attacking midfield roles. He has scored three and assisted five goals in 23 appearances so far this season and could be of great utility for the Gunners.

Diaz could be used as a backup for both Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, and can also compete for the pair’s starting spots. Aged only 25 still, Diaz would also perfectly gel with the squad, who are all around the same age on average. Additionally, Arsenal has a strong Spanish contingent, with the likes of Mikel Merino, David Raya and manager Arteta himself present at the club to make Diaz feel welcome.

The environment is perfect for the deal, but it remains to be seen whether Madrid let go of a utility player mid-season while they are challenging for silverware.
