Jordi Osei-Tutu,21-year old Arsenal academy product’s impressive performances at VFL Bochum has drawn huge recognition.

Arsenal are well known for producing high-class players through their academy. Hector Bellerin, Bukayo Saka, Joe Willock, and Reiss Nelson are some academy graduates excelling in the Gunner’s senior team after donning the reds and whites at the academy level. Due to the surplus amount of talents Gunners has been following the tradition of sending out players in a loan such that they get enough playtime and experience just like the case of Serge Gnabry.  Jordi Osei-Tutu is just another prodigy belonging to that category.

Jordi Osei-Tutu was recruited in the Arsenal academy from his boyhood club Reading in the 2015/16 season. The right-back was later sent loaned out to second-tier German club VFL Bochum in the 2019/20 season. The remarkable performances of Jordi in the Bundesliga 2 include 4 goals in 16 appearances.

His incredible pace and agility to move up and down the flanks saw him predominantly play more like a winger than a traditional wing-back.

The 21-year old scored in a 3-0 win against Heidenheim a fortnight ago and his performances impressed Bochum too much that they tweeted whether Arsenal is watching the talent they made. Their tweet saw every Arsenal fan pleading the board to retreat him again.

With already the likes of Bellerin, Maitland-Niles, and Calum Chambers queuing up for the right-back role, Jordi might experience severe challenges to find his name on the teamsheet. One might even argue how can the performances in a second-tier league can be taken into account for the Premier League level. Well, frankly speaking, it will be quite hard to match the demands at a top tier level and loaning him out for a Championship side for few seasons might give him the essential quality to compete for the Premier League.
