Darren Bent impressed by 25-year-old attacker’s improvement under Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta

Kai-Havertz-vs-Brighton

Arsenal star Kai Havertz has continued to impress in the new season by scoring his second Premier League goal (one assist) in three games of the campaign.

The German attacker is running riot at this moment and was one of the few positives to take from a dull draw against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Gooners dropped two valuable points even after Havertz opened the scoring in the 38th minute. It was a beautiful goal by the former Chelsea ace.

The Seagulls’ centre-back Lewis Dunk let the ball pounce past him, only for Bukayo Saka to lay the ball to the rushing Havertz. The striker in a one-on-one situation nicely chipped the ball past Verybruggen.

Although Declan Rice’s red card and Joao Pedro’s 58th minute strike changed the momentum of the game, former footballer Darren Bent was particularly impressed by the Arsenal attacker’s display under Mikel Arteta.

Speaking to Premier League productions, he said:

Wow! I mean, incredible. He showed composure there because that’s one thing you have to say that he probably lacked when he first came back.”

“I don’t know if he lacked it or it was confidence when he first got to Arsenal because of what had happened at Chelsea.”

“But since he’s obviously understood and realised that he is one of Mikel Arteta’s main men and how much he trusts him, every single time he gets into positions because, great play from Saka, there are a number of options here, go round him, go through his legs, go over the top.”
