Arsenal are ready to make some cash as they look to sell Eddie Nketiah and Brentford could be his most ideal destination this summer, even with Marseille’s involvements. Most likely, Arsenal expects a hefty £30m for the 25-year-old.
Arsenal set to part ways with Nketiah?
Arteta has previously applauded the 25-year-old by saying there’s more to come from ‘top-level’ Nketiah after his Arsenal hat-trick against Sheffield United, but the North London Giants have never seen him as a permanent striker due to the presence of Gabriel Jesus. Nketiah hasn’t had many starting minutes last season. As a result, he made just 27 appearances with five goals and two assists in the Premier League, losing the title to Manchester City on the final day.
The Gunners’ coach previously told the Guardian, “I’m really happy for him, an academy player, to experience in the Premier League a hat-trick. He needs to enjoy the moment. He fully deserves it, and hopefully there are many more to come. He’s got an eye for goal. You look at his stats from the last 10 years. What he’s done is remarkable. He needs minutes, opportunities, and service. If he gets that, Eddie is going to score goals, that’s for sure.
“He’s a great player for Arsenal. He can be better, yes. And the best thing is the talent that he’s got, but especially his mentality is incredible. When he has that mentality with that talent, he’s going to get much better.”
Nketiah to Brentford?
Community Stadium could be the most ideal destination for Nketiah as they look for a new striker following Igor Thiago’s latest injury. The 23-year-old suffered a meniscus injury during the Bees’ 5-2 victory over AFC Wimbledon, and they could be looking for a solution going into the upcoming campaign.
Ivan Toney, Brentford’s number one striker, has been linked with a move away from the club, and he could well end up leaving before the conclusion of the summer window, which leaves Brentford with no strikers to turn to. And Eddie Nketiah could just become the player they turn to.
Though Nketiah has shown promise in Arsenal colors, it may be time for Arsenal to part ways with him, and Brentford might offer an opportunity to reach his potential. It’ll be intriguing to see if Thomas Frank and the Brentford decision-makers turn down the opportunity to sign Nketiah.
As of now, the player continues to be linked with a move to Marseille, who are offering a loan with an obligation to move deal for the striker. However, Brentford can flex their financial muscles and snap his services up from under the French club’s noses.
