An overview of the Arsenal players representing their countries at the first knockout stage of the 2024 UEFA Euros.
GERMANY vs DENMARK (2-0)
Kai Havertz: A very mixed game for the forward. Havertz scored a penalty to give Germany the lead and should have had at least two more goals to his name. He put himself through one-on-one with the goalkeeper with a sublime bit of skill but scuffed his finish and also missed two other big chances.
SPAIN vs GEORGIA (4-1)
David Raya: Dropped back to the bench after recording a fantastic performance against Albania in the group stage. He saw his country record a dominating victory to send them to the quarterfinals.
ITALY vs SWITZERLAND (0-2)
Jorginho: Was replaced in the starting lineup by Nicolo Fagioli and stayed on the bench the entire game as the winners of the last Euros crashed out early.
ENGLAND vs SLOVAKIA (2-1 after extra time)
Bukayo Saka: Had a few good moments but couldn’t influence the game much. Started the game at right wing but was shifted to left back to accommodate Cole Palmer late in the game with England desperately needing a goal. Was then shifted to right wing-back.
Declan Rice: Could have been a bit braver and more direct on the ball but overall had a good game. Was accurate with his passing, won most of his duels, and almost scored with a good shot that hit the post.
Aaron Ramsdale: An unused substitute with England progressing to the quarterfinals after a late comeback. They will face Switzerland in the next round.
BELGIUM vs FRANCE (0-1)
Leandro Trossard: An unused substitute as Belgium were knocked out of the tournament. An overall disappointing Euros campaign for Trossard.
William Saliba: What a defender this young man is. Another superb performance where he kept Romelu Lukaku quiet. He was solid in performance but can be considered lucky to have gotten away after losing the ball once, which was not converted by Belgium.
