Amidst the woes of Granit Xhaka and his life at Arsenal there seems to be a way that Steve Bruce uses this opportunity to strengthen his squad.
The former Arsenal captain was stripped off his armband recently and after his unacceptable behaviour towards the fans, he may be never seen in the Reds again.
The Newcastle manager has hinted on signing the Swiss captain come this January transfer window. If there could be any good in the days of Xhaka this news seems to be one. Finally, there’s a squad willing to sign the midfielder.
The Magpies have a brilliant depth in their defense with 6 centre-backs and 3 full-backs already but what they miss is a dependable midfielder. Bruce in Xhaka sees what Arsenal fans could never do, “a dependable player.”
Talking to the Guardian, Bruce has hinted on signing Xhaka.
“We have six centre-backs and three right-backs but are a bit short in midfield areas, so we’ll have a little look at that,” he said, as reported by The Guardian .
“You are always looking to add that bit of quality, so we’ll see if we can.”
The Arsenal captain for a long time in Emery’s reign, Xhaka has completed 144 games for the club since joining in 2016 and this number may be sealed.
The 27-year-old would definitely seek a realistic ambition in leaving Emirates and still be staying in England.
