There is a famous saying – ‘All roads lead to Rome’. Over the past 48 hours or so, it’s safe to say that for Arsenal, ‘All roads are leading to an attacker’. With less than two days to go in the transfer market, it’s clear what Mikel Arteta’s priority is.
Having already signed a defender and midfielder this summer, logically, it makes sense to look at an attacker next. It’s an area in Mikel Arteta’s team that needs beefing up and bringing in someone experienced could be the play.
Last-Minute push for Kingsley Coman
Talking about experience, what better can you do than signing someone who has won 11 league titles in 12 seasons in senior football? Throw in a Champions League and a FIFA Club World Cup and you wonder what’s left for the player to complete!
Well, he hasn’t won the Premier League yet in his career and a move to Arsenal would give him a glorious opportunity to do just that. The player we are talking about here is Kingsley Coman who is out of Bayern’s project.
Vincent Kompany has made it clear that the French winger is free to leave this summer and Arsenal are said to be interested. However, it looked like the player was headed for Saudi Arabia, only for his agent to come out and dispel any such theory.
Arsenal very much in the running!
Here is what Coman’s agent had to say about the rumours that a proposal from Al-Hilal had been accepted by the 28-year-old World Cup finalist:
“It’s NOT true. Kingsley has not accepted any bid at this stage.”
This is the cue for Arsenal to jump in and snap up this opportunity. Coman is clearly waiting this out to see if he can get a big move to a club in Europe. The 28-year-old will feel that he still has a lot to prove on the biggest stage.

Except for his cursed injury record, this signing should be a no-brainer for Arsenal. After all, Coman is everything that Mikel Arteta wants in a winger. He is pacy, electric, a great dribbler and has a good finish.
With the player expected to be available on a bargain deal this summer, the Gunners must consider this option in the coming days. Look at Liverpool who have just snapped up a market opportunity and signed Federico Chiesa from Juventus.
Signing Kingsley Coman from Bayern would be a similar transfer for Arsenal. To win tournaments, one needs well-rounded squads and Coman would go a long way in ensuring that Arteta has just that at his disposal.
