Leandro Trossard will be eligible to face Leicester City in Arsenal’s next Premier League clash on the 28th of September.
The 29-year-old was sent off against Manchester City eight minutes into the stoppage time. Referee Michael Oliver found him guilty of hoofing the ball away after his foul on Bernardo Silva. He was shown a second yellow card for a bookable offence.
It is said that the Belgian winger didn’t hear the referee blow up, and he intended to pass the ball to Gabriel Martinelli.
However, it wasn’t taken in the right spirit, and within a few seconds he was out of the field, Leandro Trossard was showing a scoreline gesture to the Man City fans before he entered the tunnel.

The winger’s sending off sparked outrage in the Gunner’s camp, which suffered from a similar setback when Declan Rice was shown a red card for nudging the ball away from Joel Veltman of Brighton and Hove Albion.

Manager Mikel Arteta also expressed his displeasure with the worrying trend of receiving a card for delaying the restart.

Fans feared that they might miss the prolific attacker in their next league clash due to a one-game ban. However, the suspension extends across all domestic competitions, meaning that he will just miss the Carabao Cup clash against Bolton Wanderers tonight.
He will serve his one-game sentencing in time for the Leicester clash on Saturday. This is a much better situation than the Rice suspension, where the midfielder was absent in the North London derby.
Arsenal will face Bolton for the first time in over a decade, with their last game ending in a 0-0 draw at the then-Reebok Arena in 2012.
The English giants last lost a game at the Emirates to the Trotters in 1994, a 3-1 defeat in the FA Cup. They will be aiming to go through this round unscattered and move a step closer to lifting their first piece of silverware since claiming the FA Cup in 2020.
