According to Corriere dello Sport, Italian side Torino are considering to launch a transfer bid for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira if Marco Giampolo becomes their new head coach.
Torreira has been limited to just two starts (against Liverpool and Aston Villa) since the Premier League restart. He was an unused substitute as Arsenal won the FA Cup final last weekend, with boss Mikel Arteta making it clear that he is not part of his plans moving forward. He has found his time in England particularly tough, trying to fit into life in North London as he tries to fit in at Arsenal.
Granit Xhaka, Dani Ceballos, and Joe Willock are seemingly preferred by the boss in midfield and the Uruguayan international could well see his days at Emirates numbered.
Marco Giampaolo, Torreira’s former Sampdoria boss, who is expected to become Torino’s next manager following the Italian club’s sacking of Moreno Longo, is clearly still a fan of the Arsenal man.
He has a list of demands before taking up the vacant place, with former pupil Torreira one of those he wants. The former Sampdoria midfielder is joined by Karol Linetty, Joachim Andersen and Filip Marchwinski on the manager’s list.
