Arsenal are linked to Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini this week and it just seems we are back into Arsene Wenger’s era, doesn’t it?
Yes, Arsenal do need someone who could hold up the play and bring physicality into the midfield, but Marouane Fellaini – seriously?
We do have Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny, who just seems enough rather than getting Fellani.
Xhaka as well as Elneny have shown heck lot of improvements last campaign. Many regard Granit Xhaka as potential Arsenal skipper for the future where as Mohamed Elneny is now loved by everyone. I am happy having what we have, rather than getting a fuzzy haired Belgian clogger.
Fellani did made a reputation for himself at Everton which earned him a move to Manchester United. But his performances for Red Devils have earned himself a degrading reputation. He is certainly not someone Arsenal supporters would want.
Fellani has only started five games last season and getting a 30-year-old to play as a occasional substitute is not ideal considering the big bucks he would get on his wages.
Yes, it would buy Xhaka and Elneny some time to develop themselves. But I would play either of them at their worst rather than Fellani at his best.
Transfers are exciting but a change like this, its certainly a nightmare for the Gooners.
