Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is excited by the prospect of signing Napoli star forward Victor Osimhen this summer, as stated by Juve Live.
The Nigerian is a target for several high-profile clubs, including Chelsea, Juventus, and Manchester United. His value continues to soar even after moving to Galatasaray on loan in September 2024.
The Gunners would definitely be looking for a wide attacker and a striker to improve their numbers upfront. The absence of some of their key attackers has impacted their chances of competing for the Premier League title.
They are likely to finish second for the third season running, and it highlights that their prime issues aren’t being addressed. Kai Havertz is out for the remainder of the season owing to a hamstring injury.
Similarly, Gabriel Jesus is also sidelined with an ACL injury, and Bukayo Saka has been missing since December. Gabriel Martinelli was also injured, but he returned as a substitute against Man United on Sunday.
MIKEL ARTETA WANTS NAPOLI FORWARD VICTOR OSIMHEN
Arteta has previously mentioned that he needs a new talisman, and Osimhen is high on their transfer wish list. RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is also their top target, but his huge price tag has been a clear obstacle.
Meanwhile, the Napoli ace is available for just £70 million. Juventus are also eyeing the African star as they look to evaluate Dusan Vlahovic’s future.

Osimhen can deal with the physicality of the Premier League, and he possesses exceptional finishing skills that can help the Gooners convert their half-chances.
The transfer saga will continue to attract attention as the months pass by. It remains to be seen whether Arteta gets his prime target or risks moving behind in this race.
