Selling Mesut Ozil will be a step backwards says Arsenal legend

Mesut Ozil has found it difficult to adapt to life under Unai Emery following his inconsistent form and Emery’s hard work ethics. The player, however, got into Emery’s shoes of expectations and shut him with a brilliant exhibition of football in Arsenal’s latest game against Bournemouth.

Mesut has yet not pleased his manager who is looking to sell the midfielder in summer transfer window, albeit his views being against the fans as well as an Arsenal legend, a member of Invincible and world-cup winner Robert Piers.

“It’s vital that Emery finds a space for Ozil in the first team,” Pires told BWin.

“It would be a big step backwards for the club if they sell him.”

“He recently extended his contract and there’s no arguing that he is one of, if not, the best player in Arsenal’s squad.

“There seems to be a communication breakdown between Emery and Ozil and whatever the issue is, it has been allowed to drag out over the season.

“For me, it’s vital that they put whatever’s happened behind them and they move on.”

“If they put it behind them and start fresh next season, having Ozil behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette will be a formidable force.”

We have already seen what an exploitative force these three are and if Mesut Ozil does remain at Emirates, this will not only leave the fans flabbergasted but also increase Arsenal’s run for a title. As such Ramsey’s exit has left no creative force left for the Gunners except the German playmaker.

“There’s no reason why Ozil shouldn’t be in the side.” concluded Piers and rightly so.
