Arsenal training video reveals 29-year-old’s new position ahead of Tottenham Hotspur clash

Raheem-Sterling-Arsenal-training

Arsenal are gearing up for their clash against Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenh*m Hotsp*r in two weeks. Mikel Arteta’s side has ample time to plan their tactics and try them out in training.

Most of their key players have reported to international duty this month. But their new signing, Raheem Sterling, is still at the Shobha Realty Training Centre working with his former manager, Arteta.

Questions were asked about the Chelsea loanee’s position in the starting XI and expected debut date. We were able to notice some of the lesser-known facts via Arsenal’s new training video posted on X.

Raheem Sterling place in the starting XI has been revealed?

The 29-year-old was seen linking up effectively with right-back Ben White. It shows that Arteta might be planning to use Sterling as a right-winger (RW), and he will be complemented by the English defender.

He might be coming on as a substitute with Bukayo Saka retaining his place in the team. With that being said, the left-wing spot would be hosted by Gabriel Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard might play upfront.

Sterling’s presence on the right will help ease the pressure on Saka. The academy graduate has been a true warrior but certainly needs adequate rest in between games.

Arteta had Reiss Nelson as another option, but his departure to Fulham (on loan) has opened the door of opportunities for their new signing.

It seems highly likely that Sterling might cover the RW spot, but he is also capable enough to play as a midfielder or left-winger as per the situation.

The Blues’ ace has 135 goal contributions in 269 appearances while playing as a left-winger. His experience on the right can’t be ruled out either, with 100 goal contributions in 172 games.

He brings a whole new dimension to the current Arsenal attacking unit. Can cut inside to his left, make those dazzling runs in between pockets of spaces, and score from cut-back chances.

We can’t wait to see the experienced attacker dawn the red shirt on the 15th of September.
