English giants Arsenal are synonymous with developing young, talented players. The academy at Hale End is the bedrock of the club, producing world-beaters since its conception.
The North London outfit’s most brilliant prospects are waiting to have their breakthrough moment. The urge to stand on the touchline, eagerly staring at a debut appearance is a dream for many.
Midfielder Ethan Nwaneri’s journey has been rewarding to follow. The 17-year-old rising star was present on the bench for Arsenal’s all three Premier League games this season. But there is one more player who is turning heads in the U21 side with his spectacular performances.
Ismeal Kabia starts new season with a bang
The Gunners’ U21s kicked off the Bristol Street Motors Trophy 2024/25 season with a 2-1 victory over Leyton Orient.
Several wonderkids were pushing hard to show their worth. Josh Robinson opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, followed by a goal from Ismeal Kabia in the 55th minute.

It was Kabia’s third goal in four games for the young Arsenal side. He has helped them taste victory in all four games of this new season. Next Generation Arsenal hailed the Dutchman’s attacking display against Orient.
Out of all the wide players we’ve had over recent years, Ismeal Kabia is definitely the quickest I’ve seen. Rapid pace that completely unsettles defenders. Seems to have improved so much technically too, if he carries on in this trajectory he could be a really impactful player pic.twitter.com/aQal3T2Mk3

The winger is extremely fast with an improved technical flair. The winger operates on the right side of attack but is also comfortable playing on the left.
His ability to run through open spaces makes it difficult for the opposition defenders to keep track of him. The 18-year-old completed 100% of his dribbles vs. the League One side on Tuesday evening.
What lies ahead for the Dutch winger
Kabia signed his first professional contract with the club in July this year. Mikel Arteta would be having a plan for the kid after observing his gameplay in various cup competitions.
The attacker featured in 11 games in Premier League 2 Division One and was also a part of Jack Wilshere’s U18 PL, FA Youth Cup, and UEFA Youth League.
Kabia is an important player for the future since he addresses a long-standing starting XI problem for the Gunners. It’s no secret that the senior side is lacking options in the wide areas.
