Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez asks about Karl Hein following game against Real Valladolid

Karl-Hein

Arsenal loanee Karl Hein is already riding the waves in Spain following his impressive start to life at José Zorrilla Stadium.

The Gunners extended his contract this summer and sent him out on loan to the Spanish top tier to gain some regular minutes under his belt and ascertain his development. While the majority of the people were expecting him to move across to the Championship or League One, Real Valladolid presented him with an opportunity for the 2024–25 season.

The Estonian seems to have taken to life at Valladolid, so much so that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is already talking about him, per Defensa Central.

Real Madrid faced Valladolid last weekend, with Los Blancos coming through with a 3-0 win in La Liga. Fede Valverde netted the opener in the second half before Brahim Diaz and Endrick sealed the three points with late goals for Carlo Ancelloti’s side.

However, while 3-0 looks like a decent score line, Real could have had at least three more if it were not for Karl Hein.

The shot-stopper made six saves at the weekend, which included some magnificent shots from the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.

His performance was so impressive that Defensa Central claims Florentino Perez, in a conversation with Ronaldo, who is the president of Real Valladolid, raved about the 22-year-old.

Perez, reportedly in private conversations with Ronaldo following the game at the weekend, said, “He has a good build, a very good goalkeeper.”

Ronaldo, in response, said that Hein is only there on loan and Arsenal owns the rights to his services beyond the ongoing season.

Arsenal and Edu deserve mighty praise for extending Hein’s contract. It looked almost certain that he was departing the club in the off-season on a free transfer, but Arteta convinced him to stay. Now, he has had an impressive start to his loan career and has already caught Perez’ eyes.

Real Madrid have Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin in their ranks; however, they will soon be vying for their next star, with the former already thirty-two. And if Arsenal don’t have a perfect post-Aaron Ramsdale plan, the Galacticos or some other club could pry away his signatures.
