Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has urged the Arsenal fans to watch out for academy star Max Dowman who is turning heads with his stunning performances for their U18s.

The Gunners have built a strong squad wherein most of the players arrived from elsewhere. But they have also produced talented players, and some of them are doing incredibly well. Bukayo Saka is an obvious superstar, while Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly recently rose through the senior ranks.

A new household name, Dowman, has now burst onto the scene and is waiting to make his senior debut. Ferdinand appears to be a fan of this Hale End star. The English prodigy has caught the eye while playing for Arsenal’s U18s and U21s.

He is already seen as a special talent and a future superstar. Ferdinand followed a similar route at the United academy, and the centre-back played with some of the best players in world football.

He knows how to identify a good talent in an academy and appears to be blown away by Dowman’s qualities. While taking on the Rio Ferdinand Presents Youtube channel, the former Premier League star said:

Where’s Max Dowman? Does anyone know Max Dowman? You know Max Dowman? Young kid. Watch out; remember that name!”

Dowman is an attacking midfielder by trade but can also play as a number 8 or a right-winger. He is very comfortable on the ball, and he possesses neat dribbling skills.

He played seven games for Arsenal’s U18s when he was just 14 years old, scoring two goals and providing five assists. The fans were inspired by his maturity as he was playing really well for a team that is four years above him.

The youngster boasted a direct goal contribution every 68.8 minutes, and that has caught the eye of manager Mikel Arteta. The Spanish boss gave him the opportunity to train with the senior side, but the player is set to make his debut for the Gunners.

Who knows, he might soon get a taste of senior football if he continues to perform at a higher level.
