A wounded Arsenal coming from City debacle takes on bottom placed Huddersfield in what tends to be a crucial premier league match for both the clubs. One looking to rediscover its lost form while the other hoping for a lifeline. One with top four aspirations while the other craving for survival. The stakes are surely high as both teams meet at the John Smith’s Stadium on Sunday.
Among all the crisis call at Arsenal, United have somehow managed to move above the Gunners even after having one of their worst start in history. The loss at City meant that Arsenal have failed to win 5 of their last 10 league games, losing 4 of them.
The stats aren’t pretty for Jan Siewert’s side as well. Huddersfield have not won a single Premier League game since end of November, their last win coming against Wolves on match day 13th. A change in management hasn’t brought much fortune for them as they are all but destined to drop down.
The game comes as a relief for Emery as he is short on defenders with Rob Holding, Hector Bellerin and Maitland Niles all suffering long term injuries with Sokratis also sidelined for the game.
Emery might be tempted to play returning Konstantinos Mavropanos at the heart of the defence with recent injury problems with Shkodran Mustafi.
Arsenal fans around the globe would rather be excited about the offence especially the involvements of newcomer Denis Suarez and the ever present Mesut Ozil.
Denis Suarez made his Arsenal debut against Manchester City, although with a rough run of events there – Unai Emery might be poised to give him an outing this Saturday which would not only give Arsenal fans a reasonable look to their latest recruit and would give him some confidence as well. With Ramsey on his way out, Suarez has a chance to nail down his place as the Welshman’s successor.
He was given a run against City but Huddersfield looks like an idle fixture for him to have a taste of English Football. He comes as a breath of fresh air as Arsenal are in real need for some inspiration.
I am expecting Denis Suarez to start on the left with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the right accompanied by Alexandre Lacazette upfront and Mesut Ozil laying them off.
