Transfer guru Sven Mislintat is all set to take up technical director role at Vfb Stuttgart, Kicker calling it a ‘coup’ for the German side.
There were reports claiming Sven Mislintat returning to Premeir League after vacating his 14 months tenure at Arsenal, all of which now seems talk of the air as he is finalizing his return to Germany.
Sven is expected to start work at Stuttgart as soon as documentation is done and will be primarily in charge of transfers.
Stuttgart are fighting off relegation in the Bundesliga and Kicker reports Sven is ready to hold up with The Swabians despite of their future in first or the second division.
Last summer turned out to be a transfer disaster for Stuttgart. The likes of Pablo Maffeo, Nicólas González, Borna Sosa, Gonzalo Castro and Daniel Didavi had as little to none positive impact on the squad. Meanwhile, as they continued to struggle on pitch Korkut was replaced with Markus Weinzierl in October 2018. And the new head coach hasn’t fared as you would expect – averaging just 0.76 points in his first 21 games with the Bundesliga side.
With taste of failure this season, the primary objective of the new technical director will not only be signing impactful faces but also trimming out the dquad which is costing the club something in region of of €60 million a season.
Player transfers and a second investor is supposed to help Sven restructure the setup for long run and its not an easy task. Mislintat had similar long term role at Dortmund and look where they are now, well Stuggart are expect something of a similar revival.
