“I am happy to be at Arsenal and here at London for 10, 12 or even more years.” This is what Sven Mislintat told in December 2017 when he was signed as Arsenal’s head of recruitment from Borussia Dortmund. But the fate had something else in way. The German recently announced that he will be leaving the club next month. The reasons for this exit is speculated to be some behind-the-scene What was assumed to be a tenure of years has now ended with serving mere 14 months.
“It’s been an amazing experience to work at a great club like Arsenal in what has been a big time of change,” Mislintat said. “I am excited about what the future holds for the club and am looking forward to new challenges for myself.”
Sven Mislintat had been vital in bringing many Borussia Dortmund players to Arsenal. First of them being, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, then young Dortmund star who has emerged as Unai Emery’s go to man. The player has excelled under Unai Emery along with other former Dortmund stars Henrikh Mkhitariyan and Sokratis.
Both the players had served in Dortmund, before. While Mkhitariyan was swapped in for Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United, Sokratis was recently recruited this year.
Arsenal also made the news official of Sven’s exit in their website.
In a statement on their website, Arsenal said Mislintat had “done a truly outstanding job in helping us recruit players who are making a big impact now and will do so even more in the future”
We wish him every success for the future and thank him for his extremely hard work on behalf of Arsenal.”
The guy who joined Gunners in December 2017 will leave Arsenal for Bayern Munich on February 8. He brought in Lucas Torreira, Bernd Leno and Matteo Guendouzi to the Emirates which have become the heart of Emery’s squad.
