Tomiyasu was called up for the national team for Japan, although he was left-out of the opening matchday of the international break against Myanmar owing to fatigue.
Although there isn’t been any subsequent statement by Japanese FA – when we look a bit deeper into his treatment, there are hints. He wasn’t always involved in full training with the squad in the build-up to the game and was training along according to Japanese outlet Hochi News.
At the moment, there isn’t much we need to look upon there. Japan are just ensuring he isn’t overplayed and he remains involved with them in some training regime. Brazil should maybe learn from this 😛
There was some issue with Tomiyasu following that Sevilla game, but he followed it on by playing ninety-minutes against Burnley last Saturday and Mikel explained it was some issue with his contact lens.
