Arsenal have played down suggestions that they are looking to sign Bayern Munich star winger Leroy Sane in the 2025 January transfer window, as per TBR Football.
The German attacker has less than nine months remaining on his current contract, and his future will be a huge talking point next year. The Gunners’ manager, Mikel Arteta, was fond of having the Bundesliga star due to his past goal-scoring exploits for Manchester City.
But Sane has blown hot and cold since moving to the Allianz Arena in 2020. He had his moments but is largely inconsistent, racking up 101 goal contributions in 200 games. The Bavarian giants still prefer to hold on to the player and will try to convince him to extend his contract.
Sources revealed that Arsenal have added him to their transfer kitty for the upcoming winter transfer window. But there is no concrete interest shown yet, and hence, the North London outfit has rejected such claims linking them to the former Schalke 04 attacker.

Sane’s entourage only wants to open talks with a Champions League club, pushing other suitors out of this race. Aston Villa and Newcastle United are well placed in this race, but they still don’t fit the criteria.
Especially the Magpies, who were forced to sell Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh last summer in order to meet the Financial Fair Play Regulations.
IS LEROY SANE A LIABILITY FOR THE GUNNERS?
Arsenal could have managed to agree on a pre-contract agreement with the former City ace, but it is logical for them to ignore such calls.
Arteta needs a player who can contribute more than Sane and can be a valid long-term option. It is better to sharpen a lesser-known attacker than splashing huge wages on other targets. No doubt Sane’s experience can be an asset in Champions League games, but the team’s forward department needs more attention.

The Premier League elites should go after Sporting CP’s in-form striker, Victor Gyokeres. They will benefit a lot from the 26-year-old Swedish star’s attacking instincts.
