Premier League Legend backs Ryan Fraser move to Arsenal

Former West Ham United goalkeeper Shaka Hislop has stated that Premier League giants Arsenal should gamble on signing Bournemouth star Ryan Fraser’s in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal finished fifth on the Premier League table this term, just one point behind fierce local rivals Tottenham Hotspur and was denied a top-four spot. However, the Gunners still have the chance of playing Champions League football if they beat Chelsea in the final of the Europa League later this month.

Unai Emery will then decide on his summer transfer targets and one player that has been linked to joining Arsenal is Bournemouth superstar Ryan Fraser. The Scotsman has been ravishing under Eddie Howe at the Vitality Stadium and has grown into a fantastic attacker this season.

Fraser has scored seven goals and laid off 14 more assists for the Cherries this term catching the eye of quite a few top clubs including Arsenal. Although the Gunners have a transfer budget that they have to limit themselves with, ex-Newcastle United shot-stopper Shaka Hislop believes that Fraser should do well at North London.

While speaking to ESPN, the 50-year-old stated, “I don’t think he’d cost an awful lot. I don’t think he’d be in that £40m bracket. I think Arsenal can get him at a reasonable price. When you consider the company he’s in, only Eden Hazard has more assists than Fraser in the Premier League this season. I’d take a chance on him at the right price.”

Emery still has to decide whether he wants to make a move for the talented midfielder as there are a few big names that will leave the club in the summer. Fraser’s dynamism and energy could mean that the 25-year-old could be picked ahead of World Cup-winning midfielder Mesut Ozil, who is currently costing Arsenal a fortune with his wage rate.
