With Petr Cech vacating his goalkeeping duties there are reports Unai Emery is scouting prospects of talented pair of gloves to fill the void. Yes, Emi Martinez is an option though it doesn’t seem Arsenal will be going with Emi to back-up Bernd Leno between the sticks.
Genoa goalkeeping Ionut Radu is on the links with Arsenal, with the agent admitting initial contacts from Arsenal.
Crescenzo Cecere told FCInterNews: “There are many interested teams including Lyon. Recently, also, there was an Arsenal approach.
“He’s a very interesting prospect since he is growing a lot, from all points of view: he has a two-year contract with the Rossoblu and Inter has the right to repurchase.
“For now he will remain in Liguria, even if he feels affection for the Nerazzurri colors.”
Radu came through academy at Inter Milan though after struggling to get regular minutes under his belt he was sent on loan to Avelino and then to Genoa.
In the recently concluded campaign Radu made thirty-three appearances for Genoa in the league, keeping six clean sheets although conceding hefty 46 goals in the process.
