This may come as a boon or a bane but most Arsenal fans might be disappointed to know that Shkodran Mustafi has revealed that he does not want to leave the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Gunners have struggled defensively this season and Unai Emery has a big task on his hands ahead of him to try and improve the back line for Arsenal in the summer window. There are a few players who are set to leave the Emirates Stadium and therefore the cut off on these wage rates will probably provide some flexibility for summer signings.

One player who has received plenty of criticism this season has been German central defender Shkodran Mustafi. The 27-year-old has made a few silly errors which have cost Arsenal dear and maybe even a spot outside the Champions League as Arsenal finished fifth on the Premier League table.

However, the North London side still have a great chance of making it to Europe’s elite if they beat Chelsea in the Europa League final on 30tth May. Mustafi though, may not be leaving the club in the summer, much to the disappointment of the Arsenal faithful.

Mustafi is under contract with Arsenal until 2021 and most of the Arsenal fans thought that he would leave in the summer or the club would sell him. But after Mustafi’s recent comments, his future looks to be set at the Emirates.

In a recent interview with news outlet Kicker, the center-back said, “I do not know where these messages come from. It’s funny, I’ve been here for almost three years, and after half a year, it was speculated that I would change soon. I am a player of Arsenal, I have a contract until 2021, and then there is no news. If they exist, I will announce them and not sneak away.”
