We are already into November, and as we close in on new years eve (after which the Winter transfer window commences), there are piles of rumors already building up linking various players to Arsenal and vice-versa.
Today we will bring you a surprise rumor, Brazilian journalist Paulo Vinícius Coelho published a surprising story on UOL saying – Arsenal could soon be landing Brazilian midfielder Ramires from Esporte Clube Bahia.
Atletico Madrid and Arsenal are rumored to be scouting the teenager with the North-Londoners watching him for ten games and the Reds from Madrid for only two.
Paulo Vinícius Coelho believes that Bahia would like atleast another year from Ramires and they can ignore the interest from Brazilian clubs though it would be difficult to ignore the attempts from Europe. He writes that it’s ‘likely’ that Ramires will leave Bahia in January, with Arsenal being his ‘most likely’ destination.
An official from Adidas visited Bahia last week to give the player a contract with the brand representing the three strips globally. Paulo Vinícius Coelho points out that Adidas will sponsor Arsenal from 2019/20 season.
One of the club’s ‘surprised’ board member said: ”This is not the representative of the sports equipment company that normally talks with the athletes.”
Though things are not yet clear as of now, and we don’t know about how far have the talks between Arsenal and Bahia have gone. But Paulo Vinícius Coelho is one of the most reliable sport journalists in Brazil which makes it keeping an eye on this rumor.
