In January, Arsenal signed Leandro Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion and made several unsuccessful bids to bring Moisés Caicedo to the club. Now, they are reportedly targeting Alexis Mac Allister, another Brighton player.
TyC Sports journalist César Luis Merlo claims that Arsenal have a “specific interest” in signing the Argentine midfielder, and that negotiations with his current club are already underway with two of the three interested parties, including Manchester United and Liverpool.
Although it is unclear if Arsenal are one of the clubs in talks, Mac Allister’s father and agent are currently monitoring the situation in England. Earlier this year, Carlos Mac Allister admitted that his son plans to leave Brighton after the season, making Arsenal’s reported interest all the more relevant.
The midfielder has had a productive season, contributing 10 goals and two assists in 28 appearances across all competitions for Brighton.
