Amidst the drama unfurling around Declan Rice, Arsenal have silently sneaked into Kai Havertz.
The German international has come up as a fresh target for Mikel Arteta who looks to flood his attack with versatility and zeal. Arsenal already seemed to have had talks with Chelsea who are asking over £70 million for Kai Havertz but are open to negotiation. Should Arsenal get a cheaper deal they would want to pen it.
The 24-year-old has expressed his opinion to leave Chelsea as he wishes to start a new chapter after many years with the Blues. In his three seasons with the club, he has scored 31 goals in 156 matches that he has been a part of. Even though he had a dismal last season as a number 9 where he could only register 9 goals in 47 matches, he has showcased his talent as a match-winner. The German was the sole scorer in Chelsea’s Champions League victory against Manchester City and also scored an important goal in Club World Cup the same season.
Kai Havertz is admired by Thomas Tuchel under whom he prevailed and the latter who is now managing Bayern Munich has also shown interest in getting his guy back playing for him. Havertz after excelling under Tuchel would not find Munich as a bad option and going back to Bundesliga where he made his name from playing for Bayer Leverkusen is a good bet for his style of play.
He was also being followed by Real Madrid who were viewing him as his prime target but according to reporter Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish giants have quit the race and are not even willing to pay £50 million for the youngster as they switch their focus on Tottenham’s Harry Kane and PSG’ Kylian Mbappe who are deemed potential suitors of Karim Benzema.
Kai Havertz to Arsenal looks a rather unachievable feat right now considering the rivalry between two clubs and entry of Mauricio Pochettino who would want the youngster to perform under him, but this probability can not be discarded for sure.
