Arsenal forward Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has reportedly received a mammoth wage offer from the Far East to quit Arsenal and join one of the Chinese Super League clubs.
Aubameyang arrived at Arsenal from German club from Borussia Dortmund back in January 2018 for a club record transfer fee of £56 million. In his first full season as a Gunner, Aubameyang enjoyed quite a stellar campaign as he finished as the Golden Boot winner in the Premier League, winning the award alongside Liverpool duo of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
The Gabonese forward also helped Arsenal to the finals of the Europa League in Baku where they eventually lost out to local London rivals Chelsea. However, Arsenal finished fifth on the Premier League table and will not be eligible to play Champions League football next term.
Aubameyang still has two years left on his current deal with Arsenal but the club has warned the players that they will not hesitate to offload any players that are not willing to commit their long term futures at the Emirates Stadium. After plenty of incredible individual performances throughout the course of the season, Aubameyang has every right to feel dejected following no silverware and no Champions League football.
Therefore, Chinese clubs Shanghai SIPG and Guangzhou Evergrande are linked to signing the prolific goalscorer and are prepared to offer him a staggering £300,000 a week deal if he decides to make a move to China this summer. Aubameyang currently earns £190,000 a week and this potential move could give him a massive bump in pay. The Chinese Premier League clubs were initially interested in signing Aubameyang from Dortmund itself but Arsenal beat them to it.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery will not be given a massive transfer budget as well for the summer transfer window as the Spaniard will have around £40 million to spend and could allow Aubameyang to leave as well if a big sum of money comes in for the forward.
