Despite signing Denis Suarez on a loan deal from Barcelona, the Arsenal faithful will be buzzing at the prospect of the talented midfielder taking to the pitch for the remainder of the season. A deadline day deal meant that Suarez will be playing his football at the Emirates Stadium to try and help Arsenal attain a top 4 spot in the Premier League.
There might be high expectations from Arsenal fans and most might hope that Suarez has the same impact that playmaker David Silva does at Manchester City. The Spanish superstar arrived at the City of Manchester Stadium back in the summer of 2010 and in nine seasons has now been identified as one of the greatest players to grace the Premier League. Currently 33 years of age, Silva is entering the twilight years of his career at City and has three Premier League titles to his honor, playing a key role in transforming Manchester City as one of the greatest clubs in the world.
The World Cup winner will retire as one of the finest players ever to don the City jersey and Arsenal fans will be hoping that Denis Suarez has a similar impact for the club.
Just like Silva, Suarez arrived in the English Premier League from the La Liga at somewhat similar ages too. The on-loan Barcelona midfielder has the experience of playing football at the highest level and will bring a different style of play to Unai Emery’s side. The duo has worked together before and so will have a better understanding with each other. Capable of playing anywhere along the midfield line, Suarez will probably be deployed as an attacking box to box midfielder, a role that Silva plays under Pep Guardiola.
Arsenal is extremely strong in attack as Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette can tear apart any defense on their day. However, the North London giants are lacking a player who can provide that service on a regular basis and the Gunners will be hoping that Suarez is that man to rise up to the occasion.
Suarez is also able to contribute with goals and assists and any club would love to have a player who is eager to prove his worth, something the 25-year-old has struggled to do at the Camp Nou at Barcelona. Suarez is a high-quality player with a lot of untouched potential and talent, if Emery gets it right with him, the dynamic midfielder can turn out to become one of the best players in the League quite like David Silva for Manchester City.
