David Luiz is on verge of joining Arsenal and he will play alongside Mesut Ozil at the Emirates – Well he did want that back in 2016.
After Brazil’s loss to Germany in 2014, only one player apologized to Luiz after the final whistle, Mesut Ozil.
Couple of years back Mesut Ozil revealed what he said to a tearful David Luiz, the moments after the full-time whistle.
“Everybody knows the semi-final against Brazil, 7-1,” Özil told Arsenal.com.
“Of course all the players, as well me on the pitch, was a little bit surprised, after 30 minutes [with the score at] 4-0, you can’t realise – ‘what happened here?’
“If you lose a big game like that in your country and you see the fans outside crying and the players crying, you feel with them.
“So what I did, I went to David Luiz and said ‘I really apologise, you have a nice country and nice people. We learned there and had a really good time.”
In 2016, David Luiz opened up about that horrendous night in Belo Horizonte and talked about his hope to play with Mesut IF HE EVER LEAVES CHELSEA : “The low point of my career was surely there [7-1 loss]. However, what stood out to me was the class of the Germans , Mesut in particular. Yes, he was the only one to apologise. For sure if I will ever leave Chelsea again I will love to play with him”.
