If the latest claims (Thursday) in Spain are to be believed then Arsenal have made a leap towards securing their long-term target Denis Suarez from Barcelona.
Denis Suarez has been linked with a move to North-London for weeks now, although the talks were stalled for a reasonable period – after intervention of Barcelona president there was some progress made and a deal is believed to be agreed between the clubs now.
Barcelona wanted to get rid of Denis this winter, but Arsenal refused to pay a transfer fee this window, but with Suarez’ heart and heads at Arsenal – it was understood that a loan deal with compulsory purchase option would do the trick.
But Arsenal wanted to have an upper hand in the summer, they were after an option rather than a compulsory one.
Now as per report by Mundo Deportivo ( carried forward from RAC1) which says Arsenal are willing to pay €2m plus €20m for Suarez.
So, How does that work…
Suarez will arrive at Arsenal on temporary term until the end of this season on a €2m loan with the option which Arsenal were after, rather than obligation, which would cost them another €20m next summer.
Although if Arsenal opt against signing Denis in the summer, Barcelona want to extend Suarez’s contract (which runs out in 2020) by another year – just a measure of protection for losing him for nothing later on.
But it’s expected that Arsenal will sign him on permanent basis in the summer, as Unai Emery highly rates the Spainard.
